The National Rifle Association of India (NRAI) has announced final preparatory camps for India’s shooting squad ahead of the Asian Games 2026.
The programme will sharpen athletes’ skills before the Games begin on September 19.
The camps will run at shooting academies in Bhopal and New Delhi. Rifle and pistol athletes will train in Bhopal from September 5 to 14.
Skeet shooters will train in New Delhi from September 4 to 14. Trap shooters will train there from September 10 to 18.
NRAI President Kalikesh Narayan Singh Deo called the Games a major opportunity for Indian shooters. He said the camps would help the team target the podium. He further reaffirmed NRAI’s commitment to providing world-class resources.
NRAI Secretary General Pawan Kumar said simultaneous camps would provide discipline-specific training environments. He added that the administrative team had coordinated logistics, infrastructure and support staff.
High Performance Director Pierre Beauchamp said the focus would now shift towards precision, mental conditioning and technical refinement. He said coaching and sports science teams would closely track performance metrics.
Shooting events will run from September 17 to October 3 at the Aichi Prefectural General Shooting Range in Japan.
India’s rifle and pistol squad includes Parth Rakesh Mane, Himanshu Dhillon, Rudrankksh Balasaheb Patil, Elavenil Valarivan and Sonam Uttam Maskar. It also features Vidarsa K Vinod, Aishwary Pratap Singh Tomar, Niraj Kumar, Ashi Chouksey, Tilottama Sen, Kedarling B Uchaganve, Kamaljeet, Aakash Bharadwaj, Suruchi, Esha Singh, Manu Bhaker, Anish and Rahi Sarnobat.
The shotgun squad includes Kynan Chenai, Ahvar Rizvi, Shapath Bharadwaj, Anantjeet Singh Naruka, Bhavtegh Singh Gill and Mairaj Ahmad Khan.
Neeru, Manisha Keer, Aashima Ahlawat, Parinaaz Dhaliwal, Raiza Dhillon and Maheshwari Chauhan will compete.
Mixed teams include Mane-Valarivan, Uchaganve-Suruchi, Chenai-Neeru and Naruka-Parinaaz Dhaliwal.
