The Asian Cricket Council has come under fire from former India bowler Venkatesh Prasad for setting aside a reserve day exclusively for India vs. Pakistan Super 4 game while the entire event, which will be played at the R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo, is under heavy rain threat. The news was released by the ACC on Friday. According to a statement, play in the Pakistan vs. India game will resume on September 11 from the moment it was interrupted due to bad weather.
The match between the two bitter rivals is set to take place in Colombo on Sunday, although thunderous downpours are expected there over the weekend. As soon as the information went viral, it received scathing condemnation on social media. Prasad attacked the organizers without holding back, calling their actions “absolutely shameless,” “a mockery,” and “unethical.”
If accurate, this is the height of shamelessness. Prasad remarked that the tournament’s organizers had made a joke of the situation and that it was wrong to have separate regulations for the other two teams.
