India captain Shubman Gill won the toss and opted to bat first against West Indies in the third and final ODI at the New PCA Stadium in New Chandigarh on Saturday.
India handed Anshul Kamboj his ODI debut, while Nitish Kumar Reddy and Mohammed Siraj returned to the playing XI.
Gill has also won the toss in each of the three matches. Kamboj joined the squad after Prasidh Krishna was ruled out of the finale with a left hamstring injury suffered during the second ODI in Guwahati.
India have already sealed the three-match series after winning the opening two games and will now look to complete a 3-0 sweep.
Gill backed the pitch to provide favourable conditions for batting but acknowledged that India’s bowling attack still needs improvement.
The captain stressed that greater match exposure would help the inexperienced bowlers develop and reduce the impact of small margins.
Nitish replaced Ravindra Jadeja, while Siraj came into the team in place of Auqib Nabi.
West Indies captain Shai Hope said his team would seek greater consistency with the bat while improving execution with the ball.
The visitors brought Jewel Andrew, Matthew Forde and Gudakesh Motie into the XI, replacing Keacy Carty, Roston Chase and Shamar Joseph.
Hope also said the younger players had gained valuable experience from touring India and facing a strong home side.
