Supreme Court Grants Interim Relief to Mahmood Madani in Halal Certification Case

ED Moves Supreme Court Raising Complaint Against Tamil Nadu Government’s Alleged Non-Cooperation
Enforcement Directorate (ED) has moved the Supreme Court raising a complaint against the Tamil Nadu government's alleged non-cooperation in sharing criminal complaints and First Information Reports (FIRs) related to offenses under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA). ED has also said that the investigation into bribery allegations against its officer Ankit Tiwari should be handed over to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI). At present it is being investigated by the Tamil Nadu Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption (DVAC).

Supreme Court Cancels Bail Granted To DHFL Promoters On Charges Of Bank Load Scam Worth Of Crores
Former promoters of Dewan Housing Finance Limited (DHFL) Kapil Wadhawan and Dheeraj Wadhawan got a blow from the Supreme Court. The Supreme Court canceled the bail granted to both of them on charges of bank loan scam worth crores of rupees. NCLT had directed DHFL lenders to consider for its consideration, decision and voting the proposal to fully settle the mortgage lender's dues of Rs 91,000 crore, including Rs 43,000 crore due in the first few years. The financial lenders had opposed the NCLT order as they had selected Piramal Group as the winning bidder for DHFL.
