In the wake of the inauguration of the Ram Temple and the consecration of Ramlala in the sanctum sanctorum of the Ram Janmabhoomi in Ayodhya, Prime Minister Narendra Modi unveiled a groundbreaking initiative. Following several hours spent in Ayodhya, PM Modi, drawing inspiration from Lord Surya, pledged to initiate the “Pradhan Mantri Suryodaya Yojana.”
In a historic address, PM Modi emphasized the eternal connection between the devotees and the energy derived from the light of Suryavanshi Lord Shri Ram. He articulated his strengthened resolve on the auspicious occasion of the temple’s consecration, expressing the vision that every household in India should possess its solar rooftop system.

Taking to Twitter, PM Modi announced the decision, stating, “After returning from Ayodhya, the first decision I have taken is that our government will start the ‘Pradhan Mantri Suryodaya Yojana’ with the target of installing rooftop solar on 1 crore houses. This will not only reduce the electricity bill of the poor and middle class but will also make India self-reliant in the energy sector.”
