Shelly Oberoi, the Aam Aadmi Party’s(AAP) candidate for Mayor, has been announced. At the same time, Mohammad Iqbal has been chosen as the candidate for the position of Deputy Mayor. Shelly Oberoi is a Delhi councillor from Ward 86 of the Patel Nagar Assembly. At the same time, Mohammad Iqbal, the candidate for deputy mayor, is a councillor from Matia Mahal assembly seat ward number 76.This decision was taken in AAP’s PAC meeting. The mayor and deputy mayor will be for three months. The members of the Standing Committee will be for one year. In the first meeting of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi. On January 6, the election of mayor, deputy mayor and members of the standing committee will be held.
Aam Aadmi Party’s ( AAP) PAC meeting was held today. After that the name of the candidate for the post of Mayor has been announced. Then after brainstorming in the PAC meeting, Shelly Oberoi’s name was announced. The mayor’s election in Delhi is to be held on January 6, in which the mayor, deputy mayor and 6 members will be decided. In the first meeting of the MCD, the date of election was fixed on January 6 by Delhi’s Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena. In the MCD elections, out of 250 seats, the Aam Aadmi Party won 134 seats and crossed the majority mark. BJP had won 104 seats. Everyone’s eyes are fixed on the mayoral election on 6th January.
250 corporators, 10 MPs including 3 Rajya Sabha MPs and 7 Lok Sabha MPs and 13 assembly members will vote for the election of Mayor in Municipal Corporation of Delhi. Altogether 273 voters will vote in the election. The one who touches the figure of 133 will be the mayor of the party.
