Parliament Winter Session 2022: Proceedings Adjourned Sine Die Six Days Ahead of Its Schedule

Parliament Winter Session 2022: The Winter Session of Lok Sabha proceedings witnessed adjournment. Both Parliament Houses adjourned sine die today.

Parliament Winter Session 2022: Both the Houses of Parliament have today been adjourned 6 days prior to the schedule. The session started on December 7, was to end on December 29, but now it has adjourned sine die six days ahead of its schedule.

Parliament Winter Session 2022: The Parliament proceedings today mainly belong to yesterday since they have been adjourned sine die which actually were to conclude on December 29, subject to exigencies of business.

‘India begins two percent random sampling of international travelers arriving to India’

Mansukh Madaviya, Union Health Minister made a statement in Parliament saying India has started 2% random sampling of international travellers arriving to India. We might also consider making it compulsory for all if need be.

Jan Vishwas Bill introduced

Union Minister of Commerce and Industry, Piyush Goyal in Lok Sabha introduced the Jan Vishwas (Amendment of Provisions) Bill, 2022. The bill pertains to seeking to decriminalize minor offenses for promoting ease of business. After being referred to a joint committee of both houses of Parliament, now the Bill stands subject to the second ladder of its proceedings.

Tawang issue concluded in the Boycott

A walkout as well as a boycott was witnessed in The Rajya Sabha on Thursday witnessed. Following Chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar’s refusal over the request of allowing notices seeking a discussion under Rule 267 on various issues, particularly the Tawang China aggression, the Opposition MPs opted for walkout and boycott of the House proceedings.

Opposition refused to discuss in ‘private’

Prior to this action by the Opposition, the Chair asked the Leader of House and Leader of Opposition to join him in his Chamber for a discussion but this was not taken kindly by the latter. The Opposition insisted that the border row cannot be considered a “private” matter and it needed to be discussed in open as the Members of Parliament are answerable to India and its people.
