AAM Aadmi Party (AAP) leader and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal accused the BJP of being complicit in document leaks and reaffirmed his pledge that, if elected to office, the AAP will put a halt to such instances.
On Thursday 1st December, 2022, when 89 seats in Phase-1 of the Gujarat Assembly elections were up for election, he was speaking at a roadshow in the Saraspur neighbourhood of the Bapunagar constituency in Ahmedabad.
BJP jaye che, AAP aaye che (BJP will depart, AAP will come into government),” Kejriwal said at the start of the roadshow with his Punjabi counterpart Bhagwant Mann, Rajya Sabha MP Raghav Chadha, and former cricketer and Rajya Sabha AAP MP Harbhajan Singh. Additionally, Mann presented the “zero bills” for energy that 25,000 Punjabi homes, according to him, have received since the AAP took control of the province.
“Ask the BJP members what you intend to accomplish; they have no agenda. For years, they have only abused Kejriwal, so ask them what they did. The Delhi CM addressed the gathering from a truck, saying, “Kejriwal ko gali dene se pet toh nahin bharta(One can’t fill one’s stomach with insults for Kejriwal)”.
Harbhajan said “Gujarat, kem cho (Gujarat, how are you)?” to a group of ladies holding brooms, kids sporting AAP hats, and other supporters. “Maja ma” (everything is well) was the crowd’s response. He said, “Then it should be the same on the eighth, the day of the results”, or “Phir maja aa jana chahiye aath tareek ko”.
Bapunagar is currently held by the Congress’s Himmatsinh Patel, who is contesting again. It is one of the seats where Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge addressed a rally.
Rahul Raval, 32, a steel business owner in Shahibaug, showed the “Delhi Model” during the road exhibition on a cart. “I voted for the BJP earlier. But because I’m studying for the police test, I find the paper leaks to be annoying. So I’ll support AAP,” said Raval.
