Ganesh Chaturthi 2023: From Chocolate Ganesha To Turmeric Ganesha, Here Are Simple, Eco-Friendly Ganpati Idols You Can Make

The devotees are jubilant about the impending advent of their beloved Ganpati Bappa in less than a week as Ganesh Chaturthi approaches. Ganesh Chaturthi is observed as the anniversary of the birth of Lord Ganesha, and the celebrations last for ten days before the Lord bids farewell during Visarjan. The celebration of Ganeshotsav will begin this year on September 18 and end on September 28. In India, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Kerala, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, and Goa are the states that celebrate the holiday with the most fervor.

Ganesh Chaturthi

Bringing Lord Ganesha’s statue home and then drowning it in a body of water at the conclusion of the 10-day festival are two of the event’s main draws. However, a lot of idols have lead, mercury, and other heavy metals that make the water unfit to drink and contribute to water pollution. Devotees have started experimenting with environmentally friendly idols made of safer materials and foods that may also be eventually given to the poor in recent years.

It is understandable why people love dry fruit, Belgian chocolate, or fruit-based Ganpati since these items can also be given out as prasad to the underprivileged and those in need.

Here are Ganesha idols that you can make using food before the celebration:

1. A Ganesha made of wheat

Making this idol only requires that you create wheat dough. The size of the idol will determine how much wheat is needed. Then, you can bend it into what you need.

2. Fruit Ganesha

You can create a Ganesha idol using bananas, apples, papayas, cherries, and other fruits based on your creativity. To ensure that the fruits remain fresh and usable through the festival, keep your idol in a cooler area of your home.

3. Dried fruit

Given that there is no chance of spoilage, dry fruits can be a wonderful option for making Ganesha idols. The destitute and needy can later receive them. Ganesha idols can be made using dry fruits such as cashews, raisins, almonds, and walnuts, among others.
