Do you easily become overwhelmed? Here are a few techniques for calming a frazzled nervous system.
Have there ever been times when you felt helpless and overwhelmed in public? the first step is realizing that you might not be exactly like everyone else.

One who is sensitive is born that way. Our DNA and genes play a role. And being sensitive extends beyond your emotional sensitivity to include your physical wellness, according to Shah.

An overloaded nervous system is a condition in which the body’s stress reaction is triggered for a prolonged period of time, resulting in physical and mental symptoms, according to Laharika Arasu, Counselling Psychologist, Lissun, A Mental Health & mental Wellness Platform.

Everyone differs in their personality traits, coping methods, and life experiences, which results in varying amounts of resilience and coping processes.

Common signs of a stressed-out nervous system include:

1. Panic or anxiety attacks
3. Irritability or mood swings 2. Insomnia or trouble sleeping
4. ongoing discomfort or stress
5. Stomach or digestive disorders
6. Tiredness or weariness

Here are a few methods to relax a disturbed nervous system, as recommended by experts:

Focus on your breathing.

Take a few calm, deep breaths in through your nose and out through your mouth while lying down or sitting comfortably. Arasu advised you to pay attention to your breath and work to make it slow and even. It is advised using the 6-7-8 breathing technique, which calls for inhaling for six counts, holding for seven, and exhaling for eight.

Discover an empty spot

Look for a peaceful area to sit or lie down and concentrate on your breathing. Try to shut out all thoughts and focus solely on the present. Train your muscles to relax gradually.
Start at your toes and work your way up to your head, tensing and then relaxing every muscle in your body. This may aid in easing stress and encouraging relaxation.

Employ grounding strategies

It could be challenging to locate a quiet place to calm down if you’re in public. Try to list five things you can see, four things you can hear, three things you can touch, two things you can smell, and one item you can taste while you pay attention to your surroundings.
To prevent visual overload, it is advised closing your eyes and keeping them closed.
According to Arasu, a stressed nervous system can have a serious detrimental impact on a person’s mental health. Numerous mental health problems can develop when the body’s stress response is active for an extended length of time.
