Zoya Khan, Wife Of Gangster Hashim Baba, Remanded To Judicial Custody In Murder Investigation

Zoya Khan, the wife of gangster Hashim Baba, was remanded to 14-day judicial custody by the Patiala House Court in connection with the murder of gym owner Nadir Shah.

This ruling followed a request by the Delhi Police to secure her custody in order to investigate her potential role in a wider conspiracy linked to the crime.

The Special Cell of Delhi Police presented Khan before the court after a three-day remand.

The police arrested her on 19 February for her involvement in a drug-trafficking case, where they found her in possession of 270 grams of heroin, valued at approximately Rs 1 crore.

The Chief Metropolitan Magistrate, Anuj Kumar Singh, granted the Delhi Police’s request to place Khan in judicial custody for 14 days.

During earlier proceedings, the Delhi Police argued that it was crucial to determine Zoya Khan’s involvement in the crime and uncover the broader conspiracy.

Authorities are also continuing their search for Saddam Ans Salman, another suspect implicated in the murder.

The police also informed the court that they were seeking to recover the weapons used in the killing.

Investigations revealed that the suspects communicated through encrypted calls on an app to plan the crime.

Zoya Khan’s lawyer contested the charges, pointing out that her name had not appeared in any of the disclosures made by the arrested suspects.

The defense also emphasized that Khan had fully cooperated with the investigation on two previous occasions.

Zoya Khan’s Defense Statement

Zoya Khan, in her defense, asserted, “My only crime is that I am the wife of Hashim Baba. I did not participate in any of the cases filed against him previously.”

The murder of Nadir Shah occurred last September outside a gym in Greater Kailash, South Delhi.

The assailant fired 11 rounds, eight of which struck Shah, leading to his death in the hospital. Authorities believe the incident resulted from a gang rivalry.
