Supreme Court Rejects Petition To Halt Release Of Amarmani Tripathi And Wife In Madhumita Shukla Murder Case

The Supreme Court of India has rejected the petition filed by Amarmani Tripathi and his wife, Madhu Mani, who are serving life sentences for their involvement in the murder of poetess Madhumita Shukla.

The petition sought to challenge the premature release of Madhu Mani, but a bench comprising Justice Bela M Trivedi and Justice PB Varale advised petitioner Nidhi Shukla, Madhumita Shukla’s sister, to seek relief from the Allahabad High Court.

Nidhi Shukla claime in her petition that the order granting a pardon to the couple issue under misleading circumstances, with the Governor being misinform.

She also argue that the Supreme Court should dispose of her petition before Amarmani and Madhu Mani are release.

On February 10, 2023, the Supreme Court ordered the release of Amarmani Tripathi.

Subsequently, he filed a contempt petition, claiming that the order was delayed.

In response, the court directed the release of Madhu Mani Tripathi on July 3, 2023, and Amarmani Tripathi on August 18, 2023.

As the legal battle continues, Nidhi Shukla remains determine to challenge the convict couple’s early release, questioning the judicial process and the conditions under which such decisions made.
