The Supreme Court announced on Saturday that a disruption in the National Government Cloud (NGC) has severely affected several information and communication technology (ICT) services provided by the Registry.
The outage, which began early in the morning, impacted access to the official website, the e-Filing platform, and the SCR and DigiSCR (Supreme Court Reports) portals.
In a formal notice, the apex court confirmed the disruption and assured the public that technical teams were actively working to restore the affected services at the earliest.
“We regret the inconvenience caused, if any, and deeply appreciate your patience, understanding, and cooperation,” the Supreme Court stated, as it acknowledged the interruption to its digital services.
NGC Powers Digital Judiciary Infrastructure
The National Government Cloud, managed by the National Informatics Centre (NIC), plays a vital role in the digitisation of India’s judiciary.
This secure, multi-cloud platform supports various government services, offering infrastructure such as Compute, Storage, Kubernetes, Database, and Networking within NIC-managed data centres.

The Supreme Court Registry relies on this infrastructure to manage its digital initiatives, including online court services, document archiving, and the National Judicial Data Grid (NJDG), which serves as a central repository for court records across the country.
eCourt Services Temporarily Affected
The disruption also temporarily affected the eCourt services that provide online access to case information and other legal resources.
These digital platforms form a key part of the court’s commitment to transparency and accessibility.
Moreover, the Registry has been actively working to digitise case records and court orders, ensuring that users can retrieve legal documents efficiently through various online portals.
DigiSCR Enhances Legal Accessibility
Among the affected services is the Digital Supreme Court Reports (DigiSCR) initiative.
This platform uses modern technology to deliver judgments in both volume-based and HTML formats, enhancing legal knowledge sharing and making rulings easier to access, search, and study.
While the technical disruption has caused inconvenience, the Supreme Court emphasised that all concerned teams remain engaged in restoring services swiftly.
The incident highlights the increasing reliance on digital infrastructure in the judiciary and the importance of robust backup mechanisms in ensuring uninterrupted access to legal services.
