A district court in Patna on Tuesday granted interim relief to well-known educator Faisal Khan, better known as Khan Sir, in connection with the recent coaching institute shooting investigation.

The court instructed law enforcement agencies to refrain from taking any coercive steps against him while his anticipatory bail plea remains under review.

The court issued the order after reserving its verdict following Monday’s hearing. Although it has not yet ruled on Khan Sir’s anticipatory bail plea, the decision protects him from immediate arrest.

The court directed the investigating authorities to submit the case diary and information regarding Khan Sir’s past criminal record for examination.

The court will hear the matter again on June 30.

Courts commonly issue such directions while evaluating applications for protection from arrest.

Reacting to the development, Khan Sir’s legal representative, Advocate Arvind Kumar Mahuar, stated that the court’s decision allows his client to move freely without concern over immediate police action until the next hearing.

Unidentified individuals allegedly attacked Khan Global Studies, the coaching institute run by Khan Sir in Patna, on June 2, triggering the case.

During the investigation, police arrested Roshan Anand, who runs Gyan Bindu Coaching Institute, and placed him in judicial custody.

The controversy deepened after footage emerged purportedly showing two security personnel discharging firearms into the air outside the coaching premises during the incident.

Authorities later detained both guards and registered a case against them.

Investigators subsequently included Khan Sir as an accused in the FIR, invoking charges related to attempted murder and violations of the Arms Act.

Police reportedly visited his coaching centre in an effort to locate him after the case was filed, but he was not present at the premises.
