The Rouse Avenue Court will hear on August 3 whether to take cognisance of the Central Bureau of Investigation’s (CBI) chargesheet in the alleged NEET-UG 2026 paper leak case.
Special Judge Anu Grover Baliga of the Fast Track Court has taken the chargesheet on record and directed further proceedings.
During the hearing, the court directed the CBI to submit the annexures cited in the chargesheet.
The agency sought time, saying the 20,000-page annexure was being scanned, and the court granted the request.
The CBI chargesheet names 13 accused, alleging they conspired to leak the NEET-UG 2026 paper. They face charges under the BNS, 2023, the Prevention of Corruption Act and the Public Examinations (Prevention of Unfair Means) Act, 2024.
The CBI named 13 accused in the chargesheet and cited 360 witnesses, 422 documents and 43 material exhibits.
The investigation involved 72 officers, eight cyber forensic experts and raids at 92 locations across multiple states, leading to the seizure and forensic examination of digital evidence.
The case surfaced on May 12, 2026, after the Union Education Department complained of alleged irregularities and a paper leak in the NEET-UG 2026 examination held on May 3, prompting the CBI to launch its investigation.
The CBI registered an FIR the same day and launched its investigation, which culminated in the filing of the chargesheet before the Delhi court.
