Gaganpreet Kaur, arrested for the Dhaula Kuan BMW accident, will remain in jail as custody extends until September 27.
The September 14 accident near Dhaula Kuan Metro Station killed Finance Ministry official Navjot Singh and critically injured his wife.
During the latest hearing, Delhi Police Prosecutor Atul Srivastava informed the court about seized CCTV footage from pillars 65, 67.
He stressed that investigators have not recovered the accused’s mobile phone or original driving license, both crucial for establishing case responsibility.
Defence lawyer Pradeep Rana argued that those items are with her family and assured that they would be produced shortly.
Rana claimed the mobile phone evidence actually supports Gaganpreet, since emergency PCR and hospital calls were made immediately.
The court permitted investigators to confront Gaganpreet with the CCTV footage, allowing deeper clarity into the accident sequence and responsibility.
The next bail application hearing is scheduled for September 24, where the court will again review evidence and custody arguments carefully.
Meanwhile, Gaganpreet demanded that two more—an ambulance driver and a DTC bus driver—also face investigation for alleged contributory negligence.
She was arrested on September 15, facing charges including culpable homicide not amounting to murder, rash driving, and evidence destruction.
Delhi Police registered an FIR under Indian Penal Code sections 281, 125B, 105, and 238 after the incident.
The case has attracted significant attention, reflecting wider concerns about reckless driving and accountability on Delhi’s dangerously busy roads.
