Delhi High Court Allows Actor Rajpal Yadav To Travel Abroad For Film Promotion

The Delhi High Court granted relief to actor Rajpal Yadav, permitting him to travel to Melbourne, Australia, from 27 June to 5 July.

The Delhi High Court has granted major relief to actor Rajpal Yadav by allowing him to travel abroad. Justice Rajnish Kumar Gupta’s bench permitted the actor to visit Melbourne, Australia, from 27 June to 5 July.

The court directed Rajpal Yadav to deposit a fixed deposit receipt (FDR) of ₹1 lakh. He must also surrender his passport to the lower court before departure.

Additionally, the court asked Yadav to submit his permanent address and mobile number for the duration of his foreign trip. The case will be heard again on 8 July.

Rajpal Yadav had approached the High Court seeking permission to attend promotional events for his film Mera Kale Rang Da Yaar in Australia. The court allowed the travel with conditions.

The court order came despite earlier observations about Yadav’s conduct in a financial dispute. He had been accused of avoiding repayment of a large loan.

In 2010, Yadav and his wife Radha took a loan of ₹5 crore from businessman Surendra Singh to fund his directorial debut Aata Pata Lapata. In 2015, the repayment cheque issued from Axis Bank Mumbai bounced.

Surendra Singh then filed a case against Yadav’s company, Shri Naurang Godavari Entertainment. The lower court had sentenced Rajpal Yadav to six months in prison after seven cheques bounced.

Earlier, the High Court noted Yadav’s unwillingness to clear the dues, despite being financially capable. The current relief allows him to fulfil his professional commitments overseas.
