The court will hear the defamation petition of AAP leader and former Delhi Health Minister Satyendar Jain against BJP MP Bansuri Swaraj on March 22.
Jain has filed a review petition in the Sessions Court challenging the Magistrate Court’s decision.
Special Judge Jitendra Singh has summoned the lower court’s record for review.
Earlier, Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Neha Mittal had refused to order prosecution against Bansuri Swaraj.
Jain’s lawyer argued that Swaraj’s statements were defamatory and politically motivated.

Jain claimed that Swaraj made false allegations in an interview on a TV channel on October 5, 2023.
According to Jain, Swaraj stated that ₹3 crore in cash, 1.8 kg of gold, and 133 gold coins were recovered from his house.
Jain alleged that these remarks damaged his public image.
Swaraj’s lawyer opposed the defamation complaint, calling it politically motivated.

Jain maintained that Swaraj’s remarks tarnished his reputation and portrayed him as dishonest.
Jain is currently out on bail in a money laundering case.
Authorities arrested him on May 30, 2022, following a CBI FIR filed in 2017. Jain’s petition seeks legal action against Swaraj for her alleged defamatory statements.
The court’s decision on the review petition will determine the next course of action in the defamation case.
