Today in Delhi’s Red Fort, Prime Minister Narendra Modi unfurled the national flag, spoke of the enormous potential that awaited India and took aim at his political adversaries. He concluded by stating that if people’s blessings are with him, he would return the next year.
India supports Manipur
PM Modi expressed worry about the violence and atrocities committed against women in Manipur at the outset of his speech. “Manipur has experienced a surge of violence over the past few weeks. Numerous individuals died, and our mothers and sisters were degraded. But the area is gradually experiencing a return to calm. India supports Manipur,” he declared.
In a break from his customary demeanor, PM Modi referred to the 140 crore people in India as his “parivarjan (family members)” on numerous occasions today. The prime minister previously referred to the nation’s citizens as “my beloved brothers and sisters” in his remarks.
He described several initiatives taken to empower individuals and advance the country while highlighting the “track record” of his administration. “Our track record attests to the fact that India fulfills what it resolves,” PM Modi remarked, noting accomplishments in reaching various goals. India’s rise to the third-largest global economy in the ensuing five years is “Modi’s guarantee,” he continued.

The prime minister claimed that “demography, democracy, and diversity” when combined, have the power to actualize the country’s aspirations. He declared, “This Triveni can realise all of India’s dreams.”
Government’s efforts
The PM emphasized his government’s efforts to reduce poverty, claiming that in only the last five years, over 13.5 crore impoverished people were able to escape poverty and join the neo-middle class. “The country would be a developed nation when it celebrates its 100th Independence Day in 2047,” he remarked.
PM Modi was welcomed at the Red Fort by three service chiefs, Defence Secretary Giridhar Aramane, Minister of State for Defence Ajay Bhatt, and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh. Two Indian Air Force Advanced Light Helicopters Mark-III Dhruv began dropping flower petals at the location as soon as the Prime Minister raised the national flag.
According to the government’s “Jan Bhagidari” concept, about 1,800 guests from a variety of professions, including nurses, teachers, farmers, and fishermen, were invited as special guests for the program.
Har Ghar Tiranga
This year, the “Har Ghar Tiranga” project, which encourages individuals to fly their country’s flag in their homes, is still in effect. PM Modi has urged people to use an image of the national flag for their social media profile instead of their current one.

To emphasize its many efforts, the government has set up a number of selfie stations throughout Delhi. National War Memorial, India Gate, New Delhi Railway Station, Pragati Maidan, and Raj Ghat are among the locations. From August 15 to 20, the Defence Ministry will host a selfie competition online at MyGov.
With the use of over 10,000 police officers, anti-drone equipment, and 1,000 facial recognition cameras, the celebrations at the Red Fort were held in extreme security. There won’t be any Covid limits like there were in previous years, senior police officer Dependra said.
