Today, UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak and his wife Akshata Murty went to the Akshardham Temple in Delhi. Mr. Sunak is in Delhi for the two-day G20 Summit, where world leaders are debating some of the most urgent problems facing the planet.

After becoming prime minister of Britain, Rishi Sunak is making his first official trip to India.Within and around the temple, security had been stepped up.
When Mr. Sunak and his wife arrived at the temple early in the morning wearing only a shirt and pants, they were given a traditional greeting.
The UK PM was then welcomed by swamis and high-ranking members of the Akshardham Mandir, who delivered a special message on behalf of Mahant Swami Maharaj, the BAPS’s spiritual founder.

The 100-acre spiritual and cultural complex Swaminarayan Akshardham, which showcases Indian customs and historic buildings while advancing the ageless Hindu spiritual teachings of faith, devotion, and harmony, was given a tour by the British prime minister during his visit.
The pair paid their respects to the holy statues and marveled at the artwork and architecture inside the main temple complex.

After saying his prayers, Mr. Sunak went to Rajghat to honor Mahatma Gandhi with the other delegates.
PM Rishi’s temple visit
Yesterday, Rishi Sunak said he hoped to make time to visit an Indian temple, expressing pride in his Hindu heritage. He added that he and his wife, Akshata, intended to go to several of the Delhi restaurants that they had frequented.
