Chandrababu Naidu's Message After his Release on Bail
Former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister and Telugu Desam Party (TDP) leader Chandrababu Naidu was released from Rajamahendravaram Central Jail after 53 days of imprisonment related to the alleged ₹371 crore Andhra Pradesh Skill Development Corporation scam. The High Court granted him interim bail for four weeks due to his need for cataract surgery in his right eye.
Naidu had to provide a bail bond of ₹1 lakh and two sureties of a similar amount and must surrender before the jail superintendent by November 28. He is permitted to receive medical treatment at a hospital of his choice but must submit medical reports to the court.
While out on bail, Naidu is prohibited from attempting to influence or threaten anyone involved in the case to dissuade them from revealing information to the authorities.
His release led to massive celebrations in Rajahmundry and other parts of Andhra Pradesh. His son, Nara Lokesh, expressed his gratitude and referred to it as a “victory.”

On the other hand, a spokesperson for the ruling YSR Congress Party criticized the TDP’s celebration, mentioning that Naidu is facing accusations in various other cases.
Naidu’s arrest had triggered political turmoil and violent clashes, with TDP leaders accusing the Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister of a “witch hunt.” Naidu had also raised concerns about security arrangements in the prison.
Additionally, the TDP announced it would not contest the November 30 election in Telangana, as Naidu’s imprisonment would make it challenging to lead the campaign effectively.
