What Does ED Have To Say About K Kavitha And AAP Leaders In Delhi Liquor Policy

The Enforcement Directorate’s (ED) accusations against Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal have been dismissed by the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) as flagrant and baseless lies, branding the ED as a political arm of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). The Delhi government was paid ₹100 crore by BRS leader K Kavitha and a few other leaders, including Manish Sisodia and AAP national convenor Arvind Kejriwal, to obtain favorable treatment in the now-cancelled Delhi excise policy, according to the ED on Monday.

Hyderabad-based K Kavitha was taken into custody by the ED last week. The AAP responded to the claim by accusing the ED of bias in its investigation.

What did ED say on K Kavitha and AAP leaders?

According to a statement released by the Enforcement Directorate, K Kavitha, the daughter of K Chandrashekar Rao, and other individuals were discovered to have colluded with prominent AAP figures, such as Arvind Kejriwal and Manish Sisodia, to obtain preferential treatment in the Delhi excise policy.

“ED investigation revealed that K Kavitha along with others allegedly conspired with the top leaders of AAP including Arvind Kejriwal and Manish Sisodia for getting favours in the Delhi Excise policy formulation and implementation,” ED claimed in a statement.

“In exchange for these favours, she was involved in paying ₹100 crore to the leaders of AAP. By the acts of corruption and conspiracy in the formulation and implementation of Delhi Excise Policy 2021-22, a continuous stream of illegal funds in the form of kickback, from the wholesalers was generated for the AAP,” the agency added.

Furthermore, K Kavitha and her allies were expected to recover the criminal proceeds that had been paid to the AAP in advance and to continue making money off of the conspiracy as a whole.

“In exchange for these favours, she (K Kavitha) was involved in paying ₹100 crore to the leaders of AAP,” the ED said.
