West Bengal: Police Seize Cash Worth Lakhs From BJP Leader’s Close Associate

District police raided a Kharagpur hotel late at night, seizing a substantial sum of cash, amounting to lakhs of rupees, from a politician in West Medinipur, West Bengal.

In a late-night raid conducted at a hotel in Kharagpur by the district police, a significant amount of cash, amounting to lakhs of rupees, has been seized from a politician in the West Medinipur district of West Bengal.

The cash was allegedly recovered from a close associate of Agnimitra Paul, a prominent Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader, totaling up to 35 lakhs.

Sources familiar with the matter revealed that the BJP leader in question is identified as Samit Mandal.

Photographs of bundles of cash worth lakhs were reportedly found in his possession.

According to police reports, Samit Mandal was present in Kharagpur at the time of the operation.

Kharagpur, situated in the West Medinipur district of West Bengal, is an industrial town in India’s West Bengal state.
