After an intense 20-hour rescue operation, the two-year-old boy who had fallen into a borewell in Lachyana village, Karnataka, was successfully rescued on Thursday afternoon. The child, Satvik Satish Mujagond, was heard crying inconsolably throughout the operation, which drew widespread relief and celebration upon his safe retrieval from the 16-foot depth of the borewell.
Satvik, who had fallen into the borewell while playing near his house, is believed to have fallen headfirst into the narrow shaft. His cries were heard by someone nearby, prompting immediate efforts to rescue him.
The rescue efforts commenced at 6:30 pm on Wednesday evening, with officials utilizing cameras to locate the child and supplying him with oxygen through a pipeline. The operation, spearheaded by teams from the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), involved painstaking excavation to reach the trapped child.

Despite encountering challenges, including Satvik being wedged between rocks, the dedicated efforts of the rescue teams ultimately paid off. After 18 hours of meticulous digging, the officials were able to extricate the child from the borewell, marking a triumphant conclusion to the arduous rescue mission.
Following his rescue, Satvik was swiftly transferred to an awaiting ambulance, where a medical team was on standby to provide immediate care. The successful operation stands as a testament to the collaborative efforts of the rescue teams and the community’s unwavering support during the challenging ordeal.
