On Saturday, after not getting justice in the case of forced abortion and torture by kicking in the stomach, a young woman sat on a dharna outside the office of Bokaro SP carrying a placard written ‘Justice or euthanasia’. The girl is Sneha Kumari, daughter of Madhusudan De, resident of Khairachatar under Kasmar police station area. The girl alleges that she has lodged an FIR against her husband Suraj Dutta and other members of her in-laws in the Bermo Mahila police station. Cases have been registered against him for forced abortion, attempt to murder, unnatural sexual exploitation and dowry harassment. The police are not doing justice to them in this case. Especially the case investigator (IO) Sarita Gadi is helping the accused party i.e. her in-laws. Due to this the husband has got bail from the court. The IO has also been accused of hiding facts and not doing proper research. The girl has written a letter to the DGP through email saying that she is not getting justice from anywhere. In such a situation he is disappointed and disappointed. There is no will to live anymore. Therefore, the police should give them justice or euthanize them.

Sneha, who was sitting on the dharna, told that on September 19, 2023, she had lodged an FIR (No. 26/2023) in the Mahila Police Station, Bermo. She was subjected to inhuman torture by her in-laws. Her husband Suraj Dutta, resident of Sukhdev Nagar, Chas, used to behave like animals in a closed room. Used to forcibly have unnatural sex. They used to say that if they were not allowed to do whatever they wanted, they would kill them and throw them away. Many times unnatural sex was done forcibly even in an unwell state. At the same time, along with my husband, mother-in-law Asha Dutta, father-in-law Basukinath Dutta and brother-in-law Prakash Dutta also harassed me in various ways by demanding dowry and other things, which has been mentioned in the attached application.
Told that in this sequence, when the pregnancy stopped, a lot of pressure was put on her to abort it. When she refused, she was beaten and the child was killed in the womb by being kicked in the stomach, causing continuous bleeding. On July 1, 2023, a forced abortion was performed in a private nursing home in Bokaro. After this, as part of a conspiracy, the husband and mother-in-law started giving her sleeping pills in large quantities. Due to this my condition kept worsening. Seeing the critical situation, the parents brought her back to her parents’ home on August 9, 2023. After this, they went to Kasmar police station on 13 August 2023 and complained about it, where Kasmar police called both the parties on 16 August 2023 and made an agreement, but the intention of the in-laws was not clear, because there was talk of taking them away after the Kharmas was over. Her in-laws did this and in the meanwhile hatched a conspiracy and filed a false and fabricated complaint against her and her maternal family in the Chas Court on 22 August 2023.
Apart from this, on August 14, 2023, the day after she went to the police station for the first time with a complaint, a complaint was lodged against her in the Chas Court. On September 19, 2023, when I was forced to lodge an FIR in the Mahila Police Station, Bermo, on September 20, 2023 also, in defense, my in-laws have filed another false and fabricated complaint against us in the Chas Court and me and my Constantly threatened and pressurized the parents to withdraw the case. When we did not yield, we managed the police.
According to Sneha, she is saying this with a claim on the basis that the IO of this case, Sarita Gadi, had obtained the medical report from Dr. Aarti Shukla on October 2, 2023 itself, but despite much pleading, the case diary was not kept for two months. I did not engage him. Whenever requests were made, money was demanded openly. We were unable to pay the money. Ultimately it was not attached in the case diary, due to which the accused husband got bail from Bokaro Court. After getting bail, the case diary was sent, but the real facts were hidden in it. The IO had received the report on 2 October, but the diary mentioned 30 November. IO received the report from Dr. Aarti Shukla, there is also a video of the same. From this it seems clear that the IO has done this to help the accused. The IO also repeatedly pressurized me to take up the case. This also shows that instead of providing justice to me, she was working in favor of the accused.
Sneha told that she met the Superintendent of Police, Bokaro several times and pleaded for justice in this matter, but still could not get justice. That’s why I no longer have the will to live. The accused in-laws have ruined my life and I am not getting justice from the police. My father has been a heart and kidney patient for the last several years and is unable to go anywhere. His treatment is still going on and mother also remains ill all the time. Sneha said that she has become completely helpless. He and his parents are very disappointed and scared. Therefore, if the police cannot give them justice then they should allow them to die. SP said that the investigation of the case is going on, the IO has been changed. Necessary guidelines have been given to the SDPO for investigation.
