Taking to X, the Vice President posted, “Blessed to get the blessings of my mother today at Tiruppur.”

He also uploaded a photograph showing his mother placing her hand on his head in a gesture of affection and blessing.

Radhakrishnan, who has been travelling across Tamil Nadu as part of his public interactions and outreach efforts, briefly stepped away from official duties to visit his family home.

The simple yet meaningful visit stood out for its emotional warmth and his act of seeking his mother’s blessings, a custom deeply valued in Indian culture.

Call for Collective Effort Towards Viksit Bharat 2047

Earlier in the day, while addressing the Coimbatore Citizens Forum, the Vice President called upon people to work together with dedication and unity to realise the national goal of Viksit Bharat 2047.

He emphasised that farmers and industrial workers form the core of India’s growth story, noting that the country’s strength lies in their combined contribution.

“Modernisation does not eliminate labour – it enhances it,” he stated, highlighting that balanced progress in both agriculture and industry is vital for inclusive national development.

Radhakrishnan further noted that India’s journey towards becoming a developed nation by 2047 would depend on collective determination, discipline, and a shared national vision.

The Vice President, who began his political career in Coimbatore, arrived in the city earlier on Tuesday to an enthusiastic reception, his first visit to Tamil Nadu since taking office last month.

He reached Coimbatore International Airport on a special flight from Seychelles, where he had represented India at the swearing-in ceremony of the island nation’s new President.

At the airport, he was welcomed by Tamil Nadu Ministers Muthusamy and Saminathan, BJP State President Nainar Nagendran, former party chief K Annamalai, and Coimbatore South MLA Vanathi Srinivasan.
