BJP govt spent 64 crore for MGNREGA in Uttarakhand: Nadda

JP Nadda, speaking about the developmental projects launched in Uttarakhand by the BJP government, stated, “Who would have imagined that a medical college would be opened in Almora? Yet today, we are opening medical colleges. We are allocating Rs 1200 crore for drinking water and Rs 64 crore for MGNREGA.”

“Modi ji gave a Central fund of Rs 41,000 crores to Uttarakhand for development works,” the BJP President added.

Addressing the public meeting, Nadda said, “Isn’t Vande Bharat trains running from Dehradun to Delhi, Dehradun to Lucknow? Aren’t the construction of airports and helipads underway?”

 

Nadda slammed the Congress government, saying, “Have you ever considered that the Congress government in the state spent Rs 12,000 crores on road construction?”

Meanwhile, while addressing the rally in Pithoragarh, BJP President JP Nadda praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Uttarakhand will got to vote in the first phase of the Lok Sabha elections on 19 April. The BJP won all the five seats in the 2019 Lok Sabha polls securing 61.7 per cent votes.

Among the 543 Lok Sabha seats, Uttarakhand contributes just 5 seats. The BJP has fielded Mala Rajya Laxmi Shah, Anil Baluni, Ajay Tamta, Ajay Bhatt, and Trivendra Singh Rawat for these seats.

As per Election Commission of India, the people of Uttarakhand will cast their votes in a single phase on 19 April.

Uttarakhand has witnessed a close contest between the BJP and Congress. Both parties see the state as an essential battleground for displaying and gaining supporters for their national narratives.

The BJP had won all the Lok Sabha seats in the elections in both the 2014 and 2019 elections. With 47 out of 70 assembly seats, the BJP dominated in the 2022 assembly polls. Congress, on the other hand got 19 seats. BSP and Independents hold 2 seats each.
