The Uttar Pradesh government has announced the development of a sophisticated smartphone application designed to serve as a comprehensive virtual database for over 60,000 students and their staff from more than 400 aided schools across the state.
This initiative is part of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s vision to enhance the educational infrastructure in Uttar Pradesh.
The app will include a variety of features aimed at consolidating vital information and streamlining administrative processes.
Among its functionalities, the app will employ geo-tagging and host a dedicated module for teachers.
It will store extensive data such as date of birth, gender, mobile number, address, family background, social and financial details, Aadhaar information, and academic records for both students and staff.
The Social Welfare Department has tasked the Uttar Pradesh Electronics Corporation Limited (UPELC) with overseeing the app’s development. According to a state government spokesperson, UPELC has issued an e-tender to select a company for the project.
The chosen company will first conduct a detailed project study based on feedback from department officials.
This will involve collecting and compiling data from the aided schools and then adjusting it to meet system requirement specifications.
The subsequent project report will provide a roadmap for the app’s development, which will include creating various online modules such as a registration module and a Management Information System (MIS).
The registration module will categorize entries into student registration, staff registration, and school (infrastructure) registration.
To ensure security and accessibility, the app will feature login access for the more than 400 aided schools, directorate login (admin), ID password management, user role definitions, permission access, user-friendly navigation, and analytical capabilities.
The app’s design will also focus on scalability to accommodate future expansions.
Furthermore, the development plan includes provisions for annual maintenance and a three-day training program for staff, aligning with recommendations from the Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT).
This initiative represents a significant step towards modernizing the educational system in Uttar Pradesh, providing a centralized and secure platform for managing student and staff information efficiently.
