Additional DG (Prayagraj zone) Bhanu Bhaskar stated, “Jal police, equipped with advanced safety gadgets, will be deployed on the banks of the Ganga and Sangam to ensure the safety of devotees and prevent drowning incidents.”

In addition to the Jal Police and skilled jawans from the Provincial Armed Constabulary (PAC – flood control), companies from the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) and National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) will be involved to prevent drowning incidents.

Floating Control Room

The Jal Police will establish a floating control room at Sangam, and additional teams will be deployed to manage the crowd of pilgrims on the riverbanks.

The ADG added, “Wearing a life jacket will be mandatory for all pilgrims on boats. Furthermore, Jal Police and PAC (flood control) personnel will be equipped with life-saving jackets, guards, nets, boats, and other apparatus.”

Quick reaction teams (QRTs) will be stationed at the floating control room, equipped with safety gadgets, binoculars, and other necessary tools. Jal Police personnel will also patrol the ghats in boats to monitor and prevent drowning cases.

They will inform pilgrims about the water depth and restrict them from entering deep areas.
