The Telangana government on Sunday announced plans to name the road leading to the US Consulate General in Hyderabad after US President Donald Trump.
Government officials confirmed the decision to officially name the high-profile stretch ‘Donald Trump Avenue’.
According to the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO), the state government will formally communicate its decision to the Union Ministry of External Affairs and the US Embassy.
In a related move, the state government plans to name a new greenfield radial road connecting the Nehru Outer Ring Road at Raviryal with the proposed Regional Ring Road after industrialist Padma Bhushan Ratan Tata.
The Raviryal interchange already carries the name ‘Tata Interchange’.
Chief Minister Revanth Reddy had earlier proposed naming prominent roads in Hyderabad after leading global corporations during the US-India Strategic Partnership Forum (USISPF) Conclave in Delhi.
Following that vision, a stretch along Google’s upcoming campus in Hyderabad’s Financial District, set to be the company’s largest campus outside the US, will carry the name ‘Google Street’.
The Telangana government is also considering naming additional roads in recognition of major corporations, with Microsoft Road and Wipro Junction likely to be added to the city’s map.
The initiatives form part of the state’s broader strategy to position Telangana as a hub of innovation and global investment.
The announcements coincided with the eve of the Telangana Rising Global Summit, scheduled to begin on Monday at the Bharat Future City near Hyderabad.
Officials said the two-day event would showcase investment opportunities, with 154 international delegates from over 44 countries expected to participate.
