The Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC) has officially announced a new date for the PCS (Provincial Civil Services) Preliminary Examination 2024, responding to the concerns of competitive exam aspirants.
The exam will now take place on 22 December, a change that follows a request by students, supported by an initiative from Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.
Initially scheduled to held over two days, 7 and 8 December, the UPPSC has revised the plan, opting to conduct the exam on a single day, divided into two sessions.
This decision aims to address the difficulties students faced regarding travel and time constraints, particularly those who had planned to appear for the exam across different locations.
The revised examination schedule will consist of two sessions on 22 December. The first session will take place from 9:30 AM to 11:30 AM, and the second session will run from 2:30 PM to 4:30 PM.
This new arrangement will ensure that all candidates are able to appear for the exam in one day, minimizing logistical challenges for students traveling from different parts of the state.
The change in schedule comes after Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath stepped in, urging the UPPSC to consider the difficulties faced by students.
The CM emphasized the need to accommodate the demands of the candidates and ensure that the examination process is streamlined. Following his intervention, the UPPSC swiftly responded and made the necessary adjustments to the exam timetable.
With this move, the government aims to reduce the burden on aspirants and facilitate a smoother examination process, allowing them to focus entirely on their preparation without worrying about travel and other logistical concerns.
