On the second day of the new year, the Yogi Adityanath-led Uttar Pradesh government transferred 46 IAS officers in a strategic reshuffle. The move aims to strengthen governance and streamline administration across key departments. The changes, announced on Thursday, include high-ranking officials, impacting departments like Home, Basic Education, and Panchayati Raj.
A significant highlight is the return of 1995-batch IAS officer Sanjay Prasad as Principal Secretary (PS) Home. He will now oversee crucial divisions, including Home, Visa, Passport, and Vigilance.
Major Changes In Home And Education Departments
Deepak Kumar has been relieved of his role as Additional Chief Secretary, Home, and assigned the Basic Education Department as Principal Secretary. L. Venkateswarlu will now handle additional responsibilities in social welfare and tribal development, along with his current duties.
Sanjay Prasad’s appointment replaces B.L. Meena as Principal Secretary, Home Guard. Meena will retain his roles in horticulture, silk, and food processing. Meanwhile, Alok Kumar takes charge as Principal Secretary, Infrastructure and Industrial Development, leaving his earlier role in handlooms and textiles.
Narendra Bhushan has been appointed Principal Secretary, Panchayati Raj Department, while retaining his position in intellectual education. Anil Garg continues as Chairman and State Nodal Officer for the Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchai Yojana.
This reshuffle reflects the administration’s focus on enhancing efficiency and addressing state governance priorities.
