The Special MP MLA Court in Kanpur sentenced both brothers for their roles in the incident involving the burning of Nazir Fatima’s house. Following their conviction, Irfan Solanki lost his position as an MLA. He currently remains incarcerated in Maharajganj jail.
In their appeal, the Solanki brothers seek bail and a stay on their sentence until the final decision. The state government, in its counter-affidavit, argues for the dismissal of Solanki’s appeal. The government also demands an increase in Solanki’s sentence and challenges his acquittal in the conspiracy charge.
