Launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the campaign aims to promote environmental conservation and honor maternal relationships through tree planting.

In his address, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath urged citizens to join the initiative, emphasizing its role in combating global warming.
He highlighted Uttar Pradesh’s significant contribution to the campaign, with 54 crore saplings of various species such as peepal, neem, mango, pakad, and sahjan prepared in state nurseries for planting on 20 July.

Prime Minister Modi inaugurated the ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ campaign on World Environment Day (5 June) by planting a peepal tree sapling at Buddha Jayanti Park in Delhi.
In his address during the 111th episode of ‘Mann Ki Baat’, PM Modi underscored the campaign’s significance, linking it to the cherished bond between mother and child.
He called upon people worldwide to plant trees in honor of their mothers, acknowledging the universal reverence for maternal love.
PM Modi remarked, “I have appealed to all my countrymen and people worldwide to plant a tree along with their mother or in her name. It brings me great joy to witness the rapid progress of this campaign.”
The ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ initiative reflects a collective effort to foster environmental stewardship while celebrating the enduring influence of maternal love in society.
