On the 50th anniversary of emergency UP BJP is observing ‘black day’ Today. UP BJP will conduct seminars on district level to mark ‘black day’ on Emergency imposed in 1975 on Tuesday.
State Vice President of BJP Trimbak Tripathi said that Emergency imposed by Congress led to the murder of democracy. It violated human rights and committed atrocities against countrymen.

Notably, Emergency was imposed on June 25 in 1975 during the Prime Minister tenure of Indira Gandhi.
Referring to Emergency Anniversary as ‘black day’, Tripathi said, “It is remembered in history as a Black Day.”
According to Tripathi, the party’s Black Day programmes would feature participation from Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, State Party President Bhupendra Singh Chaudhary, Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya, and Brajesh Pathak.
He announced that the state’s district-level programmes will include participation from ministers, party officials, and top state government officials.
The programmes will honour MISA inmates at the district level in remembrance of the horrors carried out during the Emergency, and they will also include a vow to uphold democracy.
It is important to note that, on June 24, Prime Minister Narendra Modi in his remark ahead of the first session Lok Sabha mentioned Emergency. He said that people who believe in constitution will never be able to forget it. Prior to the House meeting PM denounced the June 25 as ‘black spot’ on India’s democracy.
