UP TRAFFICKERS

In a significant operation on Friday, the UP Child Commission rescued 95 children. Reportedly, they were illegally transporting them from Bihar to Uttar Pradesh.

This distressing incident shines a spotlight on the persisting concerns surrounding child trafficking.

Sarvesh Awasthi, Chairperson, Ayodhya Child Welfare Committee stated, “At around 9 am, UP Child Commission member Suchitra Chaturvedi called and said that from Bihar, minor children are being transported to Saharanpur illegally. They are in Gorakhpur and will go via Ayodhya.”

The CWC Chairperson revealed that the individuals transporting the 95 children, aged between 4 and 12, lacked any consent letters from parents. This highlighted serious breaches in child protection protocols.

On April 19, the Uttar Pradesh State Child Commission rescued children from Bihar. They were sending them to madrasas in various states.

The state’s child welfare panel acted on directives from the National Commission for Protection of Child Rights.

Priyank Kanoongo stated that NCPCR directives facilitated the rescue of innocent children from Bihar. With the assistance of the Uttar Pradesh State Child Commission in Gorakhpur, they saved these children.

“The Constitution of India has given the right to education to every child. It is compulsory for every child to go to school,” he added.
