Union Textiles Minister Giriraj Singh has announced a significant initiative aimed at promoting unity within the Hindu community.
He is likely to undertake a ‘Hindu Swabhiman Yatra’ from 18 to 22 October, with a focus on urging Hindus to remain united and avoid divisions based on caste.
Speaking at a press conference, Singh criticized leaders, particularly Congress MP Rahul Gandhi, for allegedly attempting to create rifts among Hindus by emphasizing caste differences.
Singh stated, “I will embark on a ‘Hindu Swabhiman Yatra’ from October 18 to 22, through which I will make Hindus aware because leaders like Rahul Gandhi try to divide Hindus along the caste lines.”
The minister highlighted that, unlike the Hindu community, political leaders do not aim to fragment the Muslim community on similar grounds, as they rely on cohesive minority support.
He urged the Hindu community to recognize the importance of unity, warning that divisions could lead to increased persecution, referencing the treatment of Hindus in neighboring countries like Pakistan and Bangladesh.
“The time has come for all Hindu brothers and sisters to unite against those who threaten our community. Divisions will make it harder for us to confront these challenges,” he further added.
Giriraj Singh expressed deep concern over the reported atrocities faced by Hindus in Bangladesh and condemned those in India who have suggested that a similar situation could arise in the country.
“My heart aches when I hear such things. It is crucial for us to awaken and mobilize the Hindu community,” Singh declared, emphasizing the necessity for solidarity in the face of adversity.
The ‘Hindu Swabhiman Yatra’ is likely to cover several regions and engage communities in discussions about the importance of unity, cultural pride, and the challenges facing Hindus today.
Singh’s initiative reflects a broader agenda aimed at reinforcing Hindu identity and addressing perceived threats to the community’s wellbeing.
