Union Minister Kiren Rijiju To Lead All-Party Meeting Ahead Of Monsoon Session 2025

Union Minister of Parliamentary Affairs Kiren Rijiju will chair a key all-party meeting on Sunday, July 20, ahead of the Monsoon Session of Parliament scheduled to commence on Monday, July 21.

The meeting, set to begin at 11:00 AM in the Main Committee Room of the Parliament House Annexe, is part of the government’s customary efforts to foster cooperation and ensure a smooth and productive session.

The all-party meeting will bring together floor leaders of all major political parties represented in Parliament.

Moreover, Kiren Rijiju plans to present the government’s legislative agenda and seek a broad-based consensus on critical national issues.

The aim is to ensure seamless proceedings in both the Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha during the 21 sittings scheduled from July 21 to August 21, excluding a recess from August 12 to August 18.

Focus on Legislative Agenda

According to official sources, the session is expected to take up several high-priority bills.

These include the Jan Vishwas (Amendment of Provisions) Bill, 2025, the National Sports Governance Bill, 2025, and the Merchant Shipping Bill, 2024.

The government has listed seven pending bills for consideration and passage, and plans to restore eight bills for discussion.

Speaking to the media ahead of the meeting, Minister Rijiju further emphasised the government’s commitment to open dialogue with all parties.

“Parliament is about to begin. Whatever issue comes up in Parliament, we will listen to it,” he said.

He also revealed recent meetings with senior opposition leaders, including Mallikarjun Kharge and Rahul Gandhi, underlining the importance of maintaining communication and coordination.

“As Parliamentary Affairs Minister, it is my responsibility to keep everyone connected,” Rijiju added.

With several key legislative measures on the table and heightened expectations from the Monsoon Session, the all-party meeting chaired by Kiren Rijiju serves as a crucial step toward ensuring that the upcoming session runs efficiently.

The government’s approach reflects a commitment to inclusivity and cooperative governance, critical to navigating a politically vibrant and diverse Parliament.

The meeting and the upcoming session aim to set the tone for crucial discussions on national development, governance reforms, and legislative priorities.
