Amit Shah with PM Modi
Union Home Minister Amit Shah said on Wednesday that even when the CBI was putting pressure on him during the UPA administration to frame Prime Minister Narendra Modi in a fake encounter case, he and the BJP did not make a hue and cry about it.
While speaking at a television network-organized conference, he made a distinction between the BJP’s and the Opposition parties’ charges that the government was misusing Central agencies.
Union Home Minister said, “I was a victim of misuse of central government agencies”.
He further said, “In the case of fake encounters, 90% of the queries concerned framing Prime Minister Modi”.
“Interrogators advised me, Why are you worried? Just name him and you will be set free. I got bail, fought the case that had been transferred from Gujarat to Mumbai, and I was acquitted,” Mr. Shah explained.
Mr. Shah claimed, “Despite the fact that these were fabricated accusations, neither BJP leaders nor MPs wore black clothing or clogged Parliament”.
“In the case of the Congress, the Centre has not filed any false cases, and Rahul Gandhi’s conviction is based on a defamation case,” the Minister continued.
Mr. Shah also ruled out any kind of political alliance in Karnataka.
“The BJP has never questioned Yediyurappa’s seniority. He’ll be the main advocate. Elected legislators will choose their leader,” Union Home Minister added.
