An educator at the e-learning platform Unacademy, draws substantial attention by imploring viewers to prevent voting for uneducated politicians that only know how to change names.

Karan Sangwan, an educator at the e-learning platform Unacademy, has drawn substantial attention on social media. A video of him doing rounds on X, previously known as Twitter, has prompted controversy on the social media platform. In the clip, Sangwan can be seen imploring viewers to prevent voting for uneducated politicians that only know how to change names.

The tutor suggested viewers be more vigilant when they vote while he was discussing the latest bill proposed by the BJP-led union government in the Lok Sabha. The bill intends to replace the British-era Indian Penal Code (IPC), Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC), and Indian Evidence Act.

During the lecture, he expressed despair over the bill and stated that he was perplexed whether he should laugh or cry. He further added, “I also have a lot of bare acts, caseloads, and notes that I had prepared. It is hard work for everyone. You also have an important decision to make.”

Subsequently, the educator, who holds a degree in L.L.M. Criminal Laws emphasized the need to opt for well-educated individuals as political representatives to avoid such situations in future. Sangwan urged the audience, “Aise insaan ko chune jo padha likha ho, jo samajh sake cheezon ko. Sirf aise insaan ko na chune jinko sirf badalna aata ho, naam change karna aata ho. Make your decision properly”
