Umesh Pal Murder Case: Accused Vijay Alias Usman Killed In Police Encounter In Prayagraj’s Kaundhiyara

Accused Vijay alias Usman killed in police encounter

Vijay alias Usman, the accused of the Umesh Pal murder case (Prayagraj shootout case) was killed in a police encounter early this morning i.e. on Monday.

According to the Commissioner of Police, Ramit Sharma said that an encounter broke out between police and the accused Vijay alias Usman on the premises of the Kaundhiyara police station area.

More details are still awaited.

Taking notes from the case, Umesh Pal was the key witness in the 2005 BSP MLA Raju Pal murder case, and his police security guard Sandeep Nishad was shot dead on February 24 this year, outside his home in the Dhoomanganj area of Prayagraj.

Reward money worth Rs 2.5 lakh 

On Sunday, the Director General of the Police of Uttar Pradesh announced a reward of Rs 2.5 lakh for each person accused in the Umesh Pal murder case only if anyone can give vital information that will lead to the arrest of the accused.

As per the police officials, almost five people have been declared wanted in the Umesh Pal murder case, including gangster Atiq Ahmed’s son Asad, against whom the Uttar Pradesh Police have announced a reward of Rs 2.5 lakh for each accused.

Besides Asad, the rest four accused are Gulam, Guddu and Sabir, the official said.

Taking to Twitter, UP Police wrote in Hindi, “@dgpup has announced a reward of Rs 2,50,000/- per accused for arresting the wanted accused or giving information about their arrest in the criminal incident that took place on 24/2/23 in Prayagraj. Many teams of UP Police are constantly trying to arrest the accused.”
