Udyog Bhawan Metro Station To Be Renamed ‘Seva Teerth Bhawan’: Manohar Lal Khattar

In an important administrative move, Union Minister Manohar Lal Khattar declared that the Udyog Bhawan Metro Station in New Delhi will be renamed ‘Seva Teerth Bhawan’ station. The announcement marks a significant change in the identity of the metro stop.

The decision symbolises a redefinition of the administrative character of the area. It aligns with the government’s broader governance approach.

Speaking at the event, Khattar said that renaming prominent public landmarks reflects the nation’s evolving institutional culture. He further added that it also represents a shift in policy direction.

Khattar noted that the new name connects the metro station with the wider vision linked to ‘Seva Teerth Bhawan’. According to him, the change signals a transformation within the capital’s administrative core.

Officials said the process will follow the completion of all required formalities and coordination with the concerned agencies.

Situated on the Yellow Line of the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation network, the station serves one of the most prominent government districts in central Delhi. It provides convenient access to several ministries and important offices located nearby.

Because of its strategic placement, government personnel, staff members and visitors widely use the station for their daily commute to the area. The renaming, therefore, carries administrative as well as symbolic importance.

The announcement follows the inauguration of the newly built ‘Seva Teerth’ complex by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The modern facility now accommodates the Prime Minister’s Office, the National Security Council Secretariat and the Cabinet Secretariat.

Senior Union Ministers and high-ranking officials were present at the unveiling ceremony.

The event marked the official relocation from the earlier PMO premises at South Block to the contemporary complex located along Kartavya Path, previously known as Rajpath.

The metro station’s new name reflects the wider administrative transformation in the national capital.
