A deadly assault in South Delhi’s CR Park locality has left a father and son dead, while another individual remains hospitalised with injuries, according to police officials.
The victims, identified as Rakesh Sood, 62, and his 27-year-old son Karan Sood, were taken to Max Super Speciality Hospital on Friday night, where doctors declared both dead on arrival. A third person, Rahul, who was also injured in the incident, is currently receiving treatment.
Police said they received an alert at around 9:30 PM on 17 April. The hospital informed authorities about the admission of the victims from a residential complex in the area.
Initial findings suggest the attack may be linked to an ongoing personal dispute. Investigators believe the accused, identified as Asad, who lives in the same residential complex, allegedly used a sharp weapon during a confrontation.
The suspect has been taken into custody, and a case has been registered at the local police station.
Authorities have begun a detailed inquiry to establish the exact sequence of events and confirm the motive.
Anant Mittal, DCP South District, said the investigation is in progress. Teams are collecting forensic evidence and recording statements from witnesses and relatives.
The incident has unsettled residents in the neighbourhood, with many expressing concern over safety in the area.
Police have assured that further action will follow based on the outcome of the investigation.
