Yuva Chetna will organize a tribute meeting to honor martyrs of the 1966 cow protection movement. The event will take place on November 7 at 9:30 a.m. at the Constitution Club of India. Rohit Kumar Singh, Yuva Chetna’s National Convenor, shared details of the program, highlighting its significance.
Rohit Kumar Singh recalled that, on November 7, 1966, the government, led by Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, ordered police to open fire on peaceful cow protection activists. The incident left a profound impact on the Sanatani community and its call for cow protection.
Swami Karpatri Ji Maharaj, a leading saint of the 1950s, led the demand for a law banning cow slaughter. Despite his calls, the government did not take action. On November 7, 1966, thousands of saints and devotees gathered outside Parliament with cows and calves, demanding legal protection for cows.
