In a tragic incident, three minor sisters allegedly died by suicide after jumping from the ninth floor of a residential building in Uttar Pradesh’s Ghaziabad. The incident occurred around 2 AM on Tuesday at Bharat City Society.
The victims, aged 16, 14 and 12, reportedly jumped together from the balcony of their apartment.
Police officials said they recovered a suicide note from the spot, suggesting that the girls were deeply attached to online Korean games.
The exact circumstances leading to the incident remain unclear, and authorities have launched a detailed investigation.
The girls’ father, Chetan Kumar, said he felt shocked after reading the note his daughters left behind.
According to him, the note stated that they could not live without ‘Korea’, which they described as their life.
Kumar told IANS that he did not know which games his daughters were playing and expressed concern that the games may have assigned them dangerous online tasks.
He further urged parents to closely monitor their children’s online activities, warning that families often remain unaware of the risks associated with certain games and digital challenges.
Confirming the incident, ACP Atul Kumar said authorities rushed the three girls to Loni Hospital after the fall, where doctors declared them dead.
Moreover, the Police have begun questioning family members and examining digital devices to determine the role of online content.
The incident has once again raised serious concerns about the impact of online games and content on minors.
Similar cases in India and abroad, including deaths linked to dangerous online challenges and gaming addiction, have prompted renewed calls for parental vigilance and stronger digital safety measures for children.
