A deadly bus accident in Mumbai’s Kurla area on Monday night left three people dead and 17 others injured. The incident occurred around 9:50 p.m. in front of Anjuman-e-Islam School, located on SG Barve Marg in Kurla (West).
Authorities say that the driver of a Brihanmumbai Electric Supply and Transport (BEST) bus lost control of the vehicle, causing it to crash into several other vehicles. Police officials suspect that a brake failure may have led to the crash. At the time of the accident, the bus was traveling from Kurla railway station toward Andheri.

A staff nurse from the nearby Bhabha Hospital further confirmed that 20 victims were brought to the facility following the collision. Unfortunately, three of them were declared dead. The remaining 17 injured individuals are receiving medical treatment, with 10 reported to be in serious condition.
Following the accident, a large crowd gathered at the scene. Some of the injured were further transported to the hospital in private vehicles due to the congestion. Traffic in the area was severely impacted, leading to delays and disruption. Top police officials have arrived at the scene to investigate the cause of the crash.
As of this report, the exact number of casualties is yet to be confirmed. Authorities have not yet disclosed whether any victims were taken to other medical facilities apart from Bhabha Hospital.
However, the investigation into the accident continues as police work to determine the full extent of the tragedy.
