No-Confidence Motion
No-Confidence Motion- Today, the Speaker and the political parties will discuss the schedule for the no-confidence motion against the Narendra Modi administration. Due to a lack of support, the opposition does not anticipate the motion passing. Its sole purpose, according to insiders, is to persuade the Prime Minister to talk about Manipur, a demand that the administration has thus far dismissed. Only a discussion and a statement from the Union Home Minister will be permitted, according to the administration.
Five seats are vacant in the 543-member Lok Sabha, lowering the threshold for a majority to 270.
With 301 seats, including the Speaker’s seat, the BJP easily surpasses the majority threshold. With allies, the NDA total rises to 331.
There are also the “non-aligned parties,” 10 of which, including the YSR Congress, Naveen Patnaik’s Biju Janata Dal, the BSP, and the TDP, can indirectly assist the government by abstaining from voting, lowering the threshold for a majority.
The rival is far behind the pack. The united opposition front can add up to a total of 143. The total rises to 159 if smaller parties that do not support the BJP are counted.
The motion, according to the Congress, was introduced so that Prime Minister Modi would be compelled to address Manipur in the House. The Congress is aware of how the land is divided.
The Indian alliance is aware of its representation in the Lok Sabha, but this issue is more complex than that. The struggle for justice in Manipur is at stake, according to Congressman Gaurav Gogoi.
“A message should go out to the brothers and sisters of Manipur that PM Modi might have forgotten Manipur, but the India Alliance stands with them in this hour of grief, and we are fighting for their rights inside the Parliament,” he stated.
“We want to request that PM Modi visit the legislature and address the country because this issue is no longer exclusive to Manipur and has now affected other states as well. The prime minister should address the nation from within parliament in the interest of national security and the integrity of the nation, he continued.
