Bhopal: January 16, 2023. It was the first day of the plenary session on Life, Value, and Development Formation on the first day of the two-day meeting of Think-20 under the programs of G-20. The German representative Professor Dennis J Snower, President of Global Solution Initiative, Germany today held that India can transmit new energy to the world. In his keynote address, Snower stated that India, while leading the G-20, has the power to infuse new energy into the world based on established high values.
Presiding over the session. Dr. Rajeev Kumar, President of First India Foundation and former Vice-Chairman of Niti Aayog, Government of India, said that keeping in mind the values, we have to move towards progress by walking on the path of development.
Keynote speaker Prof. Dennis said, ”All the people of the society should get the benefit of the available resources. Proceeding with the race of development, we should always remember that we are also social animals. Our social values will help us in all these endeavors. Dominant countries use their power to influence the global market, which promotes inequality. The need of the hour is that we make human-centric policies because equality is essential. The G-20 is mainly an organization based on economic activities.”
”Along with the economic environment, we also must pay attention to the social environment. We must move forward with values by adopting far-reaching thinking, which includes the welfare of society, nation, and the world, rather than keeping individual-centric thinking. Our life values should be part of our life journey, not the destination. Value-based understanding makes us better and happier,” Professor Snower further added.
The chairman of the session, Dr. Rajeev Kumar, said that the participation of the society is very important for the establishment of “global good governance with environment-friendly lifestyle, moral values, and auspiciousness”. He said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is constantly promoting the concept of the country’s culture “Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam” at the global level. Conducting the session, he said in the end that the values of life have to be established at every level. Work will have to be done keeping in view your wishes and aspirations in the overall interest. Every individual has to determine his role in the larger interest. We have to keep our thinking on a global level. Many of the challenges faced by us at present, can be solved only by developing a value-based society.”
Center for Professional Ethics U Kalon, United Kingdom and Director of the School of Law, U Kalon, Cyprus Prof. Doris Sheoredor started his address with Namaste. He appreciated the efforts being made by state Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan for environmental protection. Chairman, Task Force 6 of Think-20 India and Visiting Fellow, RIS, New Delhi, G.A. Tadas said, ”The G-20 includes various nations, both developed and developing. We have to increase the resources to achieve our goals by the year 2030. The race for development has been affected by the Corona Pandemic. We have to make progress keeping in mind the values on the path of development.”
