In a significant development concerning the Dasna Devi Temple in Ghaziabad, BJP leader Nand Kishor Gurjar met with Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Tuesday to address escalating tensions surrounding the temple.
The meeting came in response to recent controversies and public unrest triggered by inflammatory remarks made by Mahant Yati Narsinghanand.
Gurjar has called for urgent action against those involved in attacks on the temple, emphasizing the need for legal repercussions under the National Security Act (NSA).
After their discussion, Chief Minister Adityanath reassured Gurjar of the government’s commitment to uphold peace and ensure that those responsible for the unrest would face stringent consequences.
Expressing his concerns on social media platform X, Gurjar stated, “Today, I met with the Honorable Chief Minister @myogiadityanath and informed him about all aspects of the Dasna Devi Temple. The Honorable Chief Minister has urged to maintain peace in the matter.”

Case Background
The controversy intensified following provocative comments made by Mahant Narsinghanand, which sparked widespread protests across the region.
These events culminated in a large gathering on Sunday, where the Dasna Devi Temple Committee organized a ‘Mahapanchayat’ to voice concerns over the temple’s security.
During the Mahapanchayat, Gurjar reiterated demands for the arrest of those undermining Hindu dignity, calling for measures under the NSA.
Furthermore, he raised alarm over what he described as the unlawful presence of 10 crore Rohingya and Bangladeshi immigrants in India, accusing rival political parties, including Congress and the Aam Aadmi Party, of encouraging this situation for electoral gains.
He also advocated for the establishment of fast-track courts to address crimes against temples, suggesting the implementation of the death penalty for severe offenses.
In response to the unrest, Dinesh Chandra P, Ghaziabad’s Additional Commissioner of Police, confirmed the implementation of security measures, including the enforcement of Section 163. He stated, “We will take strict legal action against anyone violating the law. As a result of the warning issued earlier, we have detained at least 40 to 50 people.”
This turmoil follows Mahant Narsinghanand’s controversial remarks on 29 September, which sparked protests and raised significant security concerns for the Dasna Devi Temple.
As tensions continue to simmer, local authorities remain vigilant in monitoring the situation to ensure communal harmony is preserved.
