Tejashwi Yadav Files Nomination From Raghopur; Promises Change And Development In Bihar

As the Bihar Assembly Election 2025 nomination process gathers pace, RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav filed his nomination from the Raghopur Assembly constituency on Wednesday, marking his third consecutive contest from the seat.

The nomination event turned into a large-scale rally, with thousands of party supporters participating in a massive roadshow. Tejashwi was accompanied by RJD supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav, Rabri Devi, Misa Bharti, and Sanjay Yadav.

Lalu’s elder son, Tej Pratap Yadav, had planned to file his nomination from Mahua on a Janshakti Janata Dal ticket but deferred it to Thursday, October 16. BJP-backed JD-U leader Vijay Kumar Sinha also filed his nomination from Lakhisarai on Wednesday.

Addressing the media before filing, Tejashwi said, “The people of Raghopur have trusted me twice. This is my third time filing my nomination, and I am confident they will once again bless me. Bihar is tired of crime, corruption, and unemployment. Change is certain, Bihar will get a Grand Alliance government.”

Criticising the ruling JD-U, he added, “The JD-U is now being run by Lalan Singh, Sanjay Jha, and Vijay Chaudhary. They have sold out to the BJP. Nitish Kumar’s Janata Dal United is no more.”

Social Welfare and Development Pledges

In a Facebook post, Tejashwi outlined his plans for Bihar, promising:

  • A government job for every family and the eradication of unemployment
  • Rs 2,500 monthly support for women and 200 units of free electricity per household
  • Rs 500 cooking gas cylinders, social security, and disability pensions
  • Industrialisation, improved education and healthcare, and crime-free governance
  • Implementation of schemes like MAA and BETI

He described his nomination as a collective pledge for change, calling on every Bihari to become a ‘Change Maker’ and assured voters that the hardships of the past two decades would end with a new government.

“The echo of change is strong, Biharis are coming to claim their rights,” Tejashwi concluded, signalling a determined campaign for the upcoming polls.
